A shocking case has emerged in the region involving a Lieutenant Colonel rank officer stationed in Jammu and Kashmir. The officer is facing serious allegations of deceiving a fellow officer into a fake marriage proposal and subsequently subjecting her to sexual assault and extortion, including a demand for an 80 lakh rupees flat.


According to the 41-year-old female officer who hails from a village in Lalgunj tehsil of Azamgarh district, during the tenure of her posting, she developed a friendship with Lieutenant Colonel. Exploiting their camaraderie, officer allegedly proposed marriage by citing their common background. For further discussion, he invited her to his flat in Kashiraj Apartment, located in the Nadesar area near Cantt Police Station of Varanasi.


On May 21, offcer sent her a flight ticket to Varanasi, where they engaged in a conversation. Officer's mother was also present during the discussion. Following this, mother suggested accepting the officer as a daughter-in-law, leading the male officer to establish forced physical relations with her. The next day, officer's mother insisted on an 80 lakh rupees flat and covering all wedding expenses.


A dispute ensued, resulting in officer and his mother allegedly subjecting the female officer to physical assault. Upon mentioning involvement of the police, male officers apologized and proposed the idea of marriage. To solidify this, he took her to a temple, where he forced her to wear a garland.


Later, when she went to officer's mother with the intention of discussing the registered marriage, they demanded 80 lakh rupees again. Feeling cornered, she approached Police Commissioner Ashok Jain, who directed to registere a case against male officer and his mother based on charges of harassment, threats and other related offenses.


Inspector Pramod Kumar Pandey told that, under the directive of higher authorities, an investigation has been initiated against the mother-son duo.
