Chaubepur in Varanasi has quietly entered the national education spotlight. The Elite English School has received official recognition from the Bhartiya Shiksha Board to run English-medium classes up to the Intermediate level, Class 12. The approval was granted on 2 February 2026.

According to the school management, this recognition makes The Elite English School the first institution in Varanasi district to be approved by the Bhartiya Shiksha Board for English-medium education up to Class 12. Education observers describe the development as a notable shift for school-level education in the region.

Speaking on the occasion, school manager Kumud Upadhyay said the Bhartiya Shiksha Board follows an academic framework that balances modern subjects with India’s traditional knowledge systems, cultural understanding, and value-based learning. He said the approach aims to support both academic growth and character development among students.

Principal V. K. Seth said the school’s focus would remain on providing quality English-medium education while keeping students rooted in Indian values. He added that the recognition would help students from Chaubepur and surrounding areas prepare better for higher education and competitive opportunities without having to move outside the district.

The announcement has been welcomed by parents and local residents, many of whom see it as an opportunity for students to access nationally aligned education closer to home. Education officials said the recognition is expected to strengthen schooling options in the region and encourage wider academic participation at the senior secondary level.

School authorities stated that preparations are underway to align curriculum delivery and academic infrastructure fully with Bhartiya Shiksha Board guidelines in the coming academic session.
