Yatharth Hospital, Model Town, Delhi Celebrates World Heart Day with Walkathon, Bhumi Pednekar Flags Off Event
Hospital combines community health awareness with the launch of Advanced Cardiac Cath Lab

New Delhi: Yatharth Super Speciality Hospitals, a leader in healthcare services across North India, today celebrated World Heart Day with a spirited two-kilometer walkathon, “Chalta Rahe Mera Dil,” flagged off by Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar. The event also marked a milestone in cardiac care with the formal inauguration of the hospital’s advanced Cardiac Cath Lab — the first of its kind in North and West Delhi. It promoted heart health, encouraged an active lifestyle, and highlighted the availability of advanced cardiac treatments under one roof. Starting at sunrise, the program began with an energizing Zumba session, setting the tone for the walkathon.
Representing a significant leap in cardiology services for the National Capital, the new Philips Azurian Cardiac Cath Lab at Yatharth Hospital, Model Town, Delhi, enables the hospital to offer a wide range of high-end cardiac procedures, ensuring timely and comprehensive treatment for patients across the region.
Bhumi Pednekar expressed her delight at the turnout and the hospital’s initiative. “It was truly inspiring to see so many people this morning, all committed to making heart health a priority. Small lifestyle changes, like walking daily, can have a big impact on our well-being. I am proud to support Yatharth Hospital, Model Town, in spreading this message on World Heart Day. I am also glad to see the hospital strengthen this message with the launch of the Advanced Cardiac Cath Lab, which will ensure timely and advanced care for heart patients.”
Mr. Yatharth Tyagi, Director, Yatharth Group of Hospitals, stated, “Events like this bring the community together and remind us that prevention is equally important. With the advanced technology at our Delhi facility, we are strengthening our commitment to providing world-class care to the people of Delhi.”
Dr. Dhiraj Jhamb, Director and Senior Consultant of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery at Yatharth Hospital, New Delhi, emphasized the importance of preventive care. “Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death in India, but it is largely preventable. Regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and timely check-ups can reduce risk significantly,” he said.
The “Chalta Rahe Mera Dil” event successfully combined community engagement with healthcare advancement, reinforcing Yatharth Hospitals’ commitment to both preventive health measures and cutting-edge cardiac technology.
